Support
Important Winter Break Information and Campus Support Resources
Winter Break is now underway, and we recognize that our community is still carrying the emotional impact of recent events. Kentucky State University remains committed to supporting students’ well-being during the break and as we prepare to begin the spring term.
Care for One Another
As we move through Winter Break, we recognize that reactions to trauma can look different for each person. Some students may experience:
-
Shock, numbness, or disbelief
-
Heightened anxiety, fear, or difficulty sleeping
-
Sadness, grief, or emotional exhaustion
-
Trouble concentrating or feeling overwhelmed
-
A strong need for connection — or, conversely, a desire to withdraw
These responses are normal, valid, and deserving of care and compassion. Please continue to check on one another and reach out for support if you or someone you know is struggling.
Supportive Measures and Counseling Resources
Support remains available during Winter Break, and services will continue when the spring term begins. Students are encouraged to reach out.
